M&L Go on the OXO Ski Trip - Day 3

Unfortunately, today was the last day of our ski trip. We debated having Mateo ski today, but realistically knew that he would rather spend some fun times with his buddies. So we woke up and had a yummy breakfast of french toast, fruit and orange juice with our other condo roomies. The kids also had surprise visitors come over for breakfast.

Nikhil (friend from Hoboken) and his little brother, Luca, were also in Okemo for the weekend and came over with their folks for breakfast.

As you can see Luca and Lucia (yes the names do sort of match) got along well

And so did the older kids - Nikhil, Mateo and Shay

But alas it was time to say goodbye and Oona and Lucia hid away so they didn't have to leave. It was a good weekend.

M&L Go on the OXO Ski Trip - Day 2

Today we woke up bright and early to hit the mountain. We needed to drop Mateo at ski school and unfortunately for Miss Lucia she was going to day care while Mommy and Papi went snowboarding and skiing.

As you can see at first Mateo had a rocky start going up the magic carpet

But eventually he got the hang of it

And in the end he had fun with his buddies Shay and Ella

Meanwhile, after taking a morning lesson, Mommy and Papi met up for lunch

Did a few runs together

And then later took Mateo up to the "Grown-up" bunny slope. As you can see he handled this magic carpet with style

Papi helped him traverse down the mountain

Oona also had a good run getting down the bunny slope

Later, we picked up Lucia (who looks like a real life Eskimo) who was very happy to see us

We went back to the condo and warmed up next to a nice fire

And Shay, Mateo and Caleb were wrapped up in iPad heaven

Before dinner Lucia had a drink and had some relaxing time with Shay

Later at the restaurant we celebrated Ella's birthday...here is the princess herself

The kids were starving after all that skiing

Lucia and Mommy had a nice time sharing some fries

And what night doesn't end well when a Scooby Doo Pinata is involved

You can tell we should be worried because Mateo is a fearless skier

M&L Go on the OXO Ski Trip - Day 1

Today was the kick-off of the OXO Annual Ski Trip in Okemo, VT, so we packed up the car picked up Mateo from school and headed off for our 4 hour car trip North.

Luckily, we were in a great house with 2 other families (this is not the house..this is actually Alex's (i.e. president of the company) house). We (my other housemates - Troy and Conor pictured) were invited over for dinner.

Of course Lucia and Oona were on their best behavior and proceeded to play hide-n-seek in the bathroom. Luckily, they managed not to rip down the shower curtain.

Shay and Mateo weren't much better and spent some of the night bouncing up and down on someone's bed with Amanda.

Luckily, after several reprimands they all settled down and watched Amanda on her DSI

M&L - Another Snow Day

So we have finally gotten the 2nd good snowfall of the season. If you recall our first was Halloween weekend and the kids were dressed as ninjas. This time around we went a little more traditional.

Baby It's Cold Outside

In general, this winter has been more modest than most, but today we hit a cold snap. Just because it is cold and we don't have a car doesn't mean we will stay inside and miss soccer.

We just have to be prepared and bundle up

M&L Get to Hang with Cousins

The holidays were hectic and also different this year. Why were they different you ask? Because for Christmas there were a few less cousins around. To catch up on time lost we decided to have a small get together at Aba and Abu's house.

The weather was nice enough to get to play outside. Antonio, Lucia and Ayden play on the deck.

Happy New Year 2012!

One may ask Wwhat did the Vielot Gonzalez family do to ring in the New Year?" Well we did the same thing we had been doing for the past few days. Hung out with friends and family, put the kids to sleep around 8PM and then just chilled on the couch. We thought about going out and celebrating in a big way, but in the end we watched the Ball drop on TV and then snuck into Mateo and Lucia's room at Grandma's to give them a peck. We woke up bright-eyed and bushy- tailed this morning.

Lucia sat in this new favorite spot of hers to reflect on the past year and hoped for a good year to come. "Happy 2012!"
