Lucia Goes to Frozen on Ice

In years past, Mateo has always been the one to get to go to shows and events (The Lion King, Yo Gabba Gabba Live to name a few), but today Miss Lucia got to have her own special time. Aba and Abu took her to see Frozen on Ice with cousin Melanie.

Yves & Aisha Come to Visit

Looks like this weekend is a very good weekend to get family visitors. On Thanksgiving we got some Gonzalez/Gracia/Chisholm love and today we got a visit from some Vielots.

It was a very, very chilly day, but we were happy to have lunch and a walk with Yves, Aisha and the littlest Vielot growing in Aisha's belly

Two cold Vielots cousins with warm hearts

Thanksgiving 2014

Well today is Turkey Day, I can say that I am not really in the mood for this celebration, but I will put on a good face because it is a day to appreciate family and to be thankful and grateful for the things we have in our life instead of wallowing in what we do not. While 2014 brought very difficult times it also brought great joy and for that I am truly grateful.

To prepare for Thanksgiving I decided to bake again...I think this is the first time I have baked since Baby V was born. Lucia was very happy to help me make my traditional Oreo Brownies.

Although we went to Aba and Abu's for Thanksgiving (as usual), on this Turkey Day we also had family visitors from Mommy's side, the Chisholm side. "Hello Auntie Tibs"

And not just Auntie Tibs, but cousins Danielle, Paul Joseph and Jackie

Prima Mima was there too of course

Valentina got to break away from rice and oatmeal and enjoyed some sweet potato - it is Thanksgiving after all

Thanks so much for friends and family
Amen

Double Slumber Party

The kids were very excited about the events planned for later today. What events were planned you may wonder? Well today the kids were going to have a double slumber party with their BFFs. Alma was going to come to our place and sleep over with Lucia and Mateo was going to Lucas's to sleep over there. This was the 2nd friend sleep over for Mateo and the 1st for Lucia.

Lucia was so excited she made a sign for Alma

Silly time "Girls Just Want to Have Fun!"

Not sure what motivated this, but the girls decided to tape up and then color Lucia's stuffed horse

As the night wound down the girls changed into their PJs and played a few more games

Super giddy - the girls got settled into bed where , after they chatted for a while, fell fast asleep. It was a successful sleep over.

Valentina Eats Solids - Kind of

So Baby V is not yet 6 months, but the doctor told us if she started to show interest in food we could start her on a little rice cereal. We were a bit hesitant and had planned to wait until she hit 6 months old, but lately she has really started to stare at us uncomfortably as we ate and has also started to grab at the food on our plates. This must be a sure sign she is wanting "real" food, so at about 5 and a half months we decided to break out the rice cereal and give it a shot.

She was mesmerized, confused and somewhat disturbed by this new element in her mouth

So its no gourmet meal, but Valentina has now entered the world of solids

Mateo's Last Travel Game of the Season

Today was the last day of the fall season of travel soccer. Leading into today's game Mateo's U9 soccer team has been undefeated and is in #1 in the league at their level.

And after their game with Montclair, they remained undefeated!!! Yah!!!

Celebration brawl

After a long day we headed over to Nelsito's for a visit where Mateo chilled with his fractured fingers and a juice box. It's hard to be this cool.

MLV Celebrate Papi's 39th Birthday

So today marks Papi's first day of his last year in the 30s. The kids, Aba, Abu and I were happy to celebrate it with him...

Valentina Turns 5 Months

Yes it is unbelievable, Valentina is 5 months today. She is clearly out of the squishy old-man phase and is now fully into the round, chubby fat roll phase...so cute...so edible.

When Lucia saw that I was taking a picture she had to get in on it, so I couldn't refuse. Who could refuse 2 adorable girls.

Of course after that one, I had to get one solo of Baby V with her 5 month tag

Valentina's In a High Chair

When we are all sitting around the table for dinner and some fun family conversation, Valentina normally begins to fuss and whine as she sits in her bouncer which is only a few inches off the ground. Our guess is that she wants to be part of the action. She wants to see everyone eye to eye and feel like she is be included, so...

...we moved her from the bouncer to a high chair, where she seemed quite at home

Valentina Channels George Washington

The day after Halloween is great fun because you get to put the kids in their costumes and relive how cute they were. Today we did a little switcheroo and had V wear Lucia's Elsa wig, but instead of looking like the Queen of the Fjords, she looked like...

...our 1st President George Washington
