M&L Go to Atlanta - Pt.2

Today, was another wonderfully warm day spent in Atlanta. We got up, got dressed and headed over to the Demetrius house again to enjoy a little more family time.

After Mateo partook in one of Uncle John's favorites, peanuts in the shell.

Later the cousins, Lucia, Mateo and PJ played a game of ball in the basement (yes their basement is that big)

After playing ball, they also decided to go for a run on the treadmill

Papi and Lucia cooled off by enjoying some ice cream

Later, cousin David came over for a little more bonding time with Lucia

Of course he also brought along his dad, cousin Joe Joe

Lucia needed some more cool down time so she hogged a spot in front of the fan

M&L Go to Atlanta - Pt. 1

Today, the family flew to Atlanta to celebrate the life of Uncle John Demetrius. He passed away last year, but he lived such a great life that the family wants to celebrate it every year. Last year, we were not able to attend the funeral and pay our respects, so this year we were determined to get there and unite with the Chisholm family. This would also be the first time for many of them to meet Lucia.

Later, Mateo and Lucia were fascinated by this Bey Blade toy...apparently it is all the rage

Lucia Turns 2!

Yes I know we already posted Lucia's 2nd Birthday festivities, but I couldn't not help but give another shout out and post this great picture.

Lucia's 2nd Birthday

Today was another special day in the Vielot-Gonzalez household. It is Lucia's 2nd birthday. So similar to what we did for Mateo's 2nd birthday, for Lucia's 2nd birthday we didn't throw a big birthday party, but we did take the day off from work and planned fun activities for her to do to help her celebrate this very special day.

Before Mateo headed off to camp, he had time to pose for a birthday pic with his little sis. Shortly after we headed out to a very fun place...

That's right, it's Sesame Place!!!

I think Lucia was confused and intrigued by the whole thing

It was extremely sunny and hot so it called for lots of sun block and of course a stylish sun hat

To cool down, Lucia and Aba took a stroll in the wave pool

And shortly after Mommy and Papi went with Lucia through the rambling river (which didn't ramble that much, but was fun)

Lucia kept getting a squirt in the face because the water would leave and then squirt out of another hole

Lucia woke up just in time for the Sesame Street parade where she saw all of her favorites...Big Bird

After the parade, Aba, Grandma and Lucia went for a ride on the Merry-go-round

And then we got to have a late lunch with the Sesame Street Gang. Miss Lucia was very excited.

But she was surprisingly shy when she got to meet Elmo face to face

I think she started to warm up a little when Cookie Monster joined her and Papi while she was enjoying her milk

I think she formed a special bond with The Count

She thought he was a really funny guy

After lunch, Lucia was ready to party and busted a move with Elmo on the dance floor

And got to talk to one of her new favorite characters, Abbie

At the end of lunch, Lucia was ready to give Elmo another hug

Before going home, we had some time for a few more rides...the catepillar

And now time to go home...that was a great time

Back at home, the birthday girl shared a candle and a snuggle with her birthday buddy Abu

And got to open her presents. Lucia, who could have imagined that the 2nd year would be even more magical than the first. We got to see you grow from a shaky, unsteady baby to a confident independent toddler who enjoys exploring, taking risks and charming everyone you come in contact with. You have been an awesome daughter, fun and entertaining sister and a darling little girl. We love you more than words can say.
