Another day another new class. Mateo started swimming class this past Sunday. Everyone knows he loves bath time, so this was super exciting for him. He went in with Papi and started learning the basics of the basics, but he had a lot of fun. The one downside...his smart parents decided to start him in swimming classes in the middle of winter (so his lips were chattering a bit eventhough the pool is indoors). Oh well, too late to take him out now he is having so much fun!

Happy New Year
So this year we spent Christmas in New Jersey with the Gonzalez clan and New Year's down in warm and sunny Miami with the Vielot-Ambrose-Chisholm peeps. I would say Mateo is a lot more aware this time around. Although he was happy to get gifts I think he really enjoyed tearing off the gift wrapping just as much if not more than the actual gifts. When we were down in Miami he exhausted himself with so much play- running, swimming, dancing and playing ball with his grandparents - that he actually slept until 10AM every morning...this was much appreciated by his sleep deprived parents. Anyway, 2007 was a blast and we look forward to all the things that await us in 2008 (including new playmates in March).

12 Days of...
Well the Winter holidays are coming up and with that comes dormant trees and lots of time indoors. We have gotten a chance to play around outside, but for the next 3-4 months our activities will probably be indoors. Today Mateo got to take a picture with Santa Claus. At first he was a little freaked out. I mean it does go against all warnings to stay away from strangers offering candy, but he warmed up after a while and with me by his side he managed to sit still for a minute. I will try and check in again in a weeek or so...

Over the hump
Mateo turned 1 on July 21st. It has been a magical year filled with, chaos, uncertainty, tears and most of all laughter. Now that he is a "big boy" we would like to take sharing our family experiences to a more organic level. Instead of the rigorous monthly updates you can check back at your convenience to see what is going on with our lives. Thanks for being involved. Love Francoise, Eduardo & Mateo :x
