Bath Time Fun

This is just a regular evening at the Vielot-Gonzalez household. Bath time is lots of fun and he is super cute with his new frog towel.

Mother's Day

Well I felt like Mother's Day was nice, but uneventful. Nothing too special and then I was sitting in front of the computer with Mateo on my lap and thought to myself that I couldn't think of anything more special than to have him there on my lap peaceful and content.

Progress

So we moved into our new home about 10 days ago and we are settling in nicely. We are learning how to adjust to the new layout, the new location and the new neighbors (who have been incredibly friendly). On top of all this we have also had to manage new daycare arrangements for Mateo. Eddie's mom had surgery and requires 3 weeks to recover, so Mateo has had a mixture of emergency daycare in the City and Daddy daycare at home. It has been slightly stressful, but as you can see we have also managed to have a lot of fun.

Back in the Saddle

So I know it has been over a month since our last post and a lot has happened. Mateo is feeling much better he even got to march through his very first major snowfall, my dad is recovering nicely, we have closed on our new home and just recently we have welcomed Mateo's new friend Maddie into this wonderfully wacky world. I would say February and March have made up for what started out looking like a very rocky 2008. Now we are in go mode, trying to set everything up in the new place and finally get some more structure in our lives, but of course we are still having fun along the way.

Recovery

Well I am not sure what stars were misaligned this past week or maybe I was being tested because I hadn't cried in such a long time, but it has been a tough 10 days. Mateo was sick - vomitting and then very weak and unlike himself. There was no cheer, no dancing and barely a smile when he saw Go Diego Go. To top it off his grandfather (my dad) is in the hospital and I have spent the last few days being confused because of the weight of responsibilty that I feel has been thrust on my shoulders. I am trying to be a loving and supportive daughter and also a caring, cradling and giving mother all while being miles apart from one or the other. I hope the next tears I shed are for pure joy...I prefer those

Splashing Around

Another day another new class. Mateo started swimming class this past Sunday. Everyone knows he loves bath time, so this was super exciting for him. He went in with Papi and started learning the basics of the basics, but he had a lot of fun. The one downside...his smart parents decided to start him in swimming classes in the middle of winter (so his lips were chattering a bit eventhough the pool is indoors). Oh well, too late to take him out now he is having so much fun!
