M&L Go to Nikhil's 4th Birthday Party

Well today we jumped back on the birthday circuit. Mateo went to soccer and then swimming and then Nikhil's birthday party. It was a cold, fun, but exhausting day.

Nikhil's birthday party was at the Monroe Movement Center in the Art Nest. Mateo and Papi work on a wreath.

As mentioned in a previous post, Lucia seems to be interested in grown up food or maybe she wants to talk or maybe she is hungry and trying to give me a hint or maybe she also wants a birthday cupcake. Whatever it is, she has really gotten into making these humorous gestures with her mouth.

The 1st Snow & the 1st Ride

Today we got the first snow of the winter. When Mateo saw it he was so excited that he wanted to go out and play in it. I was less excited, but I was happy for him because I vaguely remember how much I enjoyed the snow when I was a little kid. We also went on another visit to Toys R Us to do some shopping.

At Toys R Us Mateo was very interested in the scooters and the bicycles. Who knows - maybe Santa will get him one for Christmas.

Mateo knows he should wear a helmet to be safe, but I hope he knows he needs to remove the packaging for it to be effective.

Eye Rolling 101

This morning we discovered something new about Mateo. He can roll his eyes or at least he thinks he can roll his eyes. I am not sure what even got him interested in it, but it gave us a pretty good chuckle. It actually makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Yes he looks like a crazy person, but I guess indirectly he is rolling his eyes because his head is rolling and his eyes are in his head.

Sleeping Beauty

Lucia was such a good sleeper when she was first born, but lately it has been a little more difficult to get her to take naps in the day time. She is also not yet sleeping through the night, but we are working on it. I know we will get there soon enough.

Luca Comes to Visit

Well another day, another play date. This time it was with one of Mateo's best pals - Luca. I think this was the first time Luca has been to our place. Normally Mateo goes uptown to visit him. I am sure he had fun playing host.

Mateo Accessorizes

Day by day Mateo continues to entertain us with what he is learning and also with his unique style and charm. Lately that "style" has manifested through his need to wear button shirts like Papi to his obsession with wearing the shoes with the red lights not the green lights. Today he had me rolling on the ground with his combination of accessories.

Lucia is 4 Months

Hooray! Today Lucia is 4 months old. She is a lot more active than before although overall she is still a very chill baby. She loves being upright and is constantly trying to stand on her own. She is completely fascinated by her big brother and can sit and watch him for long periods of time. She is still rather small, but weighty. She is very chatty, loves doing raspberries and grabbing and holding her feet. She is also halfway there in terms of rolling over. Everything goes into her mouth now and we think she is getting interested in exploring other foods because she stares at people when they eat. She learns new things everyday and we are continually grateful that she is in our family.
